Soaring Self-Confidence!

Throughout my whole life I have battled with weight issues, but more importantly, I have struggled with self-confidence issues. In 2006, I hit the highest weight of my life and to be honest didn’t really know how bad it was until I stepped on the scale at my doctor’s office. I was in complete shock and couldn’t believe I had let myself get so bad. I had always been a heavy girl with a pretty face, but I wanted more. I began to change my eating habits and within a year had lost 60lbs. I was hesitant to go into a gym because I didn’t want to be that girl that everyone looked at. I set my fear to the side and joined a gym. It was exactly what I feared it would be; I felt like I didn’t fit in. So, again, I did what I did best and gave up. My weight was still going down but my body wasn’t toning up.

In 2010, I moved to Springfield, MA and noticed Best Fitness. I again decided to give going to a gym a chance and joined. I instantly felt like I belonged. The staff and environment really helped me feel comfortable going to a gym. I worked out numerous times a week doing solely cardio. I then met Ashley, a personal trainer at Best Fitness. She opened my eyes to so many exercises, techniques, and assisted me in working on a meal plan. I have been training with Ashley for over a year now and she is an amazing personal trainer. She has transformed me into a girl who sat on the couch, to a girl who can now do push-ups.

In 2011, with my continuing and growing love for the fitness industry, I decided to take my new confidence and apply for a position at the facility that I had fallen in love with. I had gone from extremely overweight to working at a fitness facility. My once diminished confidence was now at an all-time high and I thank Best Fitness and my trainer, Ashley, for giving me my life back. I am currently down over 120lbs and I’m now known as the girl who is always smiling – exactly the person I have always wanted to be.
